Privacy policy
Strategic Realty Solutions Canada ("SRS Canada", "we") runs a rent-to-own program. This policy explains what we collect when you use srscanada.ca, why, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- What you enter in our application: your name, phone number, email, the city you want to live in, the approximate value of the home, your down payment, your household income and how you earn it, your debts and any amounts in collections, your assets, your monthly vehicle and rent payments, whether you've had a consumer proposal or bankruptcy, and any comments you add.
- How you found us: the ad or link you clicked (for example campaign tags and ad click IDs), the page you landed on, and your browser type.
- Cookies and similar tools from Google that measure which ads lead to enquiries. These tell Google when you visit, when you start the application, when you finish it, and when our questions show the program isn't a fit right now. They don't receive your answers, name or contact details.
- Basic technical information our service providers record automatically when your browser connects, such as your IP address and the time of the request.
Why we use it
- To assess whether our program fits your situation and contact you about it by phone, text or email.
- To measure and improve our advertising.
We don't sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us host the site, protect it from spam, store enquiries and notify us of new ones, and with mortgage or real estate professionals only after you ask us to proceed.
The database that stores your application is hosted in Canada. Some of our other providers, including our advertising provider, may process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to courts and authorities under local law. We require them to protect it and use it only to provide their services to us.
Our application form uses a spam protection service that may collect information about your browser and device to check that you are a person. It uses that information only to protect against spam and abuse.
How we protect it
Your application is sent over an encrypted connection and stored in a Canadian database that can't be read from the website; only SRS Canada staff with a password-protected account can view it. We limit access to the people who need it to assess and contact you.
Your consent and choices
You agree to be contacted when you submit the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by replying "stop" to a text, unsubscribing from an email, or calling us. You can also ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, and we'll answer within 30 days.
To limit ad measurement, you can block or clear cookies in your browser, use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and change your ad settings in your Google account. The application works the same either way.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to assess and serve you, and for up to two years after our last contact if you don't join the program, unless the law requires longer.
